Exclusive Concert: Jazz Legend Eddie Palmieri in Prague on November 14, 2013

A feast for jazz lovers. A unique opportunity to enjoy a concert by Mr. Eddie Palmieri, American music legend. On November 14, Eddie Palmieri and his 11 men strong Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra will give a concert at Prague’s Lucerna Great Hall.

Mr. Palmieri’s music career has lasted more than 50 years. He has mostly been the front man of salsa and Latino jazz orchestras. Eddie Palmieri’s discography includes 36 titles. Eddie Palmieri has been awarded nine Grammy awards. He won his first Grammy in 1975 and it was for the first time that the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (Naras) recognized Latino category. In 2007, his “Simpatico” album was awarded as the best Latin jazz album by Jazz Journalist Association.

In 1993, Mr. Palmieri was appointed a member of the Board of National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in New York and in 1995; he helped creating a new category of Latin Jazz.
Eddie Palmieri received many prestigious awards such as National Black Sports Award and Entertainment Lifetime Achievement Award and joined famous names like Roberto Clemente, Count Basie, Max Roach, Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington. On November 16, 2010, Eddie Palmieri was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.

This extremely prestigious concert is held under the auspices of the American Embassy in Prague.
