Papp is Microsoft’s Advertising & Online Director for CEE & MEA. Mr Papp drives the expansion of Microsoft's media and network assets in the emerging markets of Central Europe, Turkey, Middle East and Africa (MSN, Outlook.com, Skype (including mobile), Bing and Windows 8 Ads-in-Apps). He is working to increase their reach across the region, as well as help develop content and co-marketing partnerships with leading media companies across these emerging markets. His main focus is to develop and manage sales efforts to maximize advertising and sponsorship sales with the support of leading sales house and franchise partners across these regions, thereby achieving a top-of-mind position with key advertisers. Before that Mr Papp headed Swiss publishing company Ringier’s Business Development activities worldwide, with special emphasis on the company’s new media investments in the apps business and online activities in Central and Eastern Europe, China and SE Asia. He started with Ringier in 2003, when he was appointed to head the company’s Hungarian subsidiary, the country’s largest print and online media firm. Previously Mr Papp worked for Sanoma Budapest, where he developed and led the Business Press Division. From 1996 to 1999 he was Central and East European Marketing Director for ABN AMRO Bank, after working for close to nine years for The Economist Group in Vienna, Austria, where in the early 1990s he was the founding Chief Editor of the first pan-regional monthly of its kind, Business Central Europe. The newly established Specialized Financial Authority in the Czech Republic is focus on transfer pricing matters as well.
